With a little rain, the webs appear. Appearing fragile and delicate, spun high above the street between light and bunting, their true purpose is to trap Skywalker flies making the high street pass. Balancing delicate creativity with household chores makes me wonder if I’m a spider? Then, who is the fly?
Exploring Louise Bourgeois a little further and her work “Poids”. The piece explores balance represented by crystals and weights. For me, I’m reminded that crystals clatter if I upset the weights, or weights which will fall backwards without crystals. Well known for her work “Spider”, she explores motherhood and has inspired me this week in how to balance creativity and home.
Following YouTube trails from NME 25 best songs about rain, into the Beatles and then ending in a guitar session between The Edge, Jack White and Jimmy Page. Jack White describes how his friend wasn’t that impressed with the start of 7 Nation Army. His friend’s reaction of “meh” made him re-evaluate whether it was any good, followed by the belief that no, there was something there. Glad he stuck with it.
As part of the International Coaching Federation continuous personal development, I joined a webinar exploring the roles of metaphors in coaching. The ability to think differently by using objects to describe our feelings and benefit from the insight was explored, along with images of brain scans and symbolism for different cultures. If you would like to explore how coaching can help you solve some of the complications, please feel free to contact me. More fun to have company on the journey.
Next week, I’m excited to release the collection of photographs which explore attitudes. Taken over the past year, they explore the rebel and the submissive through street photography. How some days we can be both whilst waiting for the bus.
